What is water polo?
The basics
Water polo is a team sport played in the water (not on horses) that has 7 players. 6 players in the feild and 1 goalie. The team scores points by shooting a ball at the opponents goal. There are four quartes, each between 4 and 6 minutes long.
How
Water polo is played in a deep pool. All players must stay afloat by doing a tread called the eggbeater. Players swim back and forth trying to get the ball to the opponents' side of the pool to score. If a player touches the bottom of the pool the ball will be given to the other team.
